I was able to get my brother's Pontiac GTP back together before lunch!
His radiator was clogged with Dex-Cool sludge. I R&R'ed the radiator, hoses, and thermostat and flushed the block.
It has a little bit of belt noise going on, but I'm OK with that given the amount of coolant I spilled on the belt. According to my OBD2 scanner, the engine coolant temp gets up to about 220 before the fans kick on and drop it down to 195. That's a little hotter than I'd like, but it seems like it's normal for GMs of this era.
